- Lab 3 - due tomorrow night
- Lab 4 out - due a week from Friday
- Exam 1 topic cutoff right here
- Digital logic basics
- resistors and transistors
- the inverter
- NOR and NAND
- digital logic gate abstractions
- universality of gates
- representing mathematical functions
- multi-input gates
- simplification of circuits
Due at the start of class, Friday, February 13.
Turn in short answers to these questions. Please turn in a hard
copy (typeset or handwritten are OK). We will discuss these questions
during class, so no late submissions are accepted.
- We constructed a NAND gate from two transistors in series. What
function of three inputs is obtained by placing three transistors in
series?
- Show that the NOR gate is universal by building circuits to
compute NOT, AND, and OR using only NOR gates.
